Pilot Club honors elementary patriotic writing talents
In honor of Veterans Day, the Mineola Pilot Club has for many years sponsored a dinner for local men and women who have served in the military.
Along with the dinner, a patriotic contest is held for Mineola Elementary students to highlight their talents in writing.
Overall winner was fifth grader Jaylee Mosher. Other fifth grade winners were Olivia Thompson, first place; Trinity Weekly, second; and Madelynn Seaton, third. The fifth grade writes patriotic poetry.
Fourth grade winners included William Smith, first and Greenly Herrington, second. The fourth grade writes prose.
Third graders drew posters. First place was Oseidon Hernandez, second place was Eva Dotson and third place was Cesar Lopez.
