Playhouse hosts world premiere

Lake Country Playhouse in Mineola presents the world premiere of “Honky Tonk Hissy Fit” April 30 and May 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9, directed by Randy Parrish.

Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for students.

In this rollicking, hilarious comedy, the Doublewide, Texas, gang is back, and life in their tiny town has gotten crazier than ever! Just when things are looking up – the population has grown to seventeen mobile homes and a weekend farmers’ market – the rug is pulled out from under the residents yet again. It seems their vacation rental trailer has drawn unwanted attention from a mega-corporation in Austin. Suddenly the corporation is interested in Doublewide.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
