Precinct Two Constable’s Report

We had another successful Family Day at Lake Holbrook Beach for Memorial Day weekend. We had numerous citizens and veterans participate in providing food and cooking for first responders. The majority of the Wood County Sheriff’s Office attended along with Texas DPS and other local agencies. We had an uneventful weekend due to our presence. The beach was full of kids and families that simply wanted to enjoy their weekend on the beach.

 Numerous canine callouts with successful deployments that have resulted in citations and arrests for Mineola PD, Hawkins PD, Quitman PD and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

 We are approaching citizens at the lake and getting to know them and making sure that we keep our lakes safe. We have located and identified sexual offenders, illegal fishing and numerous violations of lake rules at area lakes. This is normally handled with warnings as needed to local citizens. 

 The local hotel and motel parking lots and common areas are being sniffed by Mata with cooperation of the hotel managers and local agencies that have resulted in the seizure of drugs.

 Other constable activity

 Motorist assists, lake rule violation at Lake Holbrook, suspicious vehicle at the roadside park, suspicious person at Lake Holbrook, security meeting with JP 2, report of child abuse referred to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, MISD track team escort, suspicious person blocking traffic on roadway.

Wood County Sheriff’s Office

 Horses out, disturbance on US Hwy. 80, canine request for assistance, disturbance and attempted warrant service, assisted removing a tree in roadway.

 Mineola PD

Disturbance at Chevron, traffic control for a crash.

Citations are being issued for the possession of drug paraphernalia and various other public safety offenses.

Citations were issued for offenses directly related to public safety such as driving while license suspended, minor in possession of alcohol and drug paraphernalia

Worked and patrolled precinct county roads enhanced in the Golden and Lake Holbrook area and numerous contacts were made with citizens.

Numerous vehicles were checked at the Lake Holbrook area.

Countywide Patrol

Interviews were conducted with several citizens related to narcotic trafficking, burglaries and thefts across the county.

County lake patrols in all precincts as requested where patrons were in violation of county lake rules.

Criminal trespass warnings issued to those at the lakes that were involved in violent acts or narcotic offenses at the lakes.
