Quitman cleanup set

Quitman Clean-Up Days will be Oct. 21 and 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the city warehouse at the end of Cliff St. and West Side Dr.

The clean-up days are for Quitman residents only and they must bring the most recent water bill from the city water department.

The following items will be accepted: general municipal waste generated by residents; yard waste; office waste; small amounts of construction debris; boxes and cardboard material; leather and clothes products; dried paint buckets; plastic items and small items of wood and metal.

Items not accepted include liquid cooking oil; batteries; medical waste; motor oil and filters; floor sweep containing oil or fuel; chemicals or pesticides; tires must be quartered or sliced into three slices; paint or paint buckets containing liquids; or refrigerator units containing CFC’s.
