Quitman Library Connections
Quitman Public Library joins libraries across the country to remind parents that the most important school supply of all is a library card! Patron cards are available for residents who can provide proof of residence in Wood County and photo identification. A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17.
With school starting back, home school instructors as well as public school teachers are encouraged to download the Libby® app to connect to the library’s vast collection of eBooks, audio books and streaming video. Also, the online TexShare® database is loaded with invaluable and up-to-the-minute research tools and reference resources. Visit the library’s website at www.quitmanlibrary.org.
Knitting and crochet instruction class meets each Thursday, 2-4 p.m. in the Shamburger Community Room. Students of all ages and skill levels may bring their own supplies and join the group for free instruction.
Photographers of all levels are invited to the In-Focus Photography Club of East Texas every 4th Monday in the library community room. Meet other photographers, share ideas and participate in photography-related events. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the 6:30 p.m. meeting and workshop.
The Wood County TX Genealogical Society meets each third Monday at 7 p.m. at the library. The next meeting is Sept. 19. The society is always ready to assist with family history research. Call 903-763-4191 to schedule an appointment or contact a member through the society’s Facebook page.
Adult GED support services are available for students who have registered online at www.ged.com. Certified instructors are available at the library on Wednesdays to assist with reading/writing skills and math.

Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
