The library is having a Scholastic Book Sale beginning June 5 and running through June 27 at 11 a.m. each day. The Scholastic company has outdone themselves to make sure this is one of their best summer sales ever. Stop by and see what’s new.

Summer Reading 2025 “Adventure Begins with Summer Reading” is happening during June. Young readers, pre-K through 10 years can pick up reading game cards at the front desk. Each Thursday in June from 2-3 p.m., there will be an activity in the library community room. On June 5, we welcome Triple H Dog Training. On June 12 we will have tables and tables of “Old Fashioned Board Gaming.” On June 19 Ramblin’ Rita will share some “Texas Tall Tales,” and on June 26 it’s “Movie Time at QPL.”

The Wood County TX Genealogical Society invites family researchers to meet on the 3rd Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the community room. The next meeting is June 23.

Exciting historical research and excavation is planned for the summer months. The public is invited to join the Wood County Metal Detecting Club that meets on 1st Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at the community room.

Board Games for Teens group meets every other Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. in the community room. Bring board games and snacks to share. This group is organized by Homeschoolers – Wood County, Texas and is designed for teens 13-19. Call 903-763-4191 to confirm game days.

Knitting and crochet instruction class meets each Thursday, 2-4 p.m. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this growing group. Classes are free.
