Quitman, Mineola runners compete at state cross country
The 7-member Quitman girls cross country team competed at the state high school meet Saturday morning at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, along with one Quitman boy and two girls from Mineola in Conference 3A.
Quitman’s Katie DeGorostiza had the best finish, 16th.

McKenna Wood, 89th, 12:39.8
Jadea Comenux, 106th, 13:33.0
Christina Plata, 145th, 14:23.1
Cooper Marcee, 147th, 14:35.7
Carlee Alcorn, 151st, 14:49.3
The Quitman team placed 12th.
Mineola
Olivia Hughes, 36th, 12:32.1
Raylie Peebles, 72nd, 13:00.2
Winning time was 10:40.5.
Enrique Olvera placed 58th in the boys meet with a time of 17:28.2, his personal best.
