April 18

Lt. Anita Tucker and Chief John Farmer responded to a reckless driver call. Witnesses saw a black sport utility vehicle with Florida license plates strike a city-sponsored garbage can at the corner of N. Stephens and W. Goode. The garbage can was destroyed and valued at over $100. The vehicle fled the city toward Lake Fork on Hwy. 154 where the vehicle was stopped by a Wood County sheriff’s deputy for reckless driving and was arrested. The driver was identified and a criminal mischief case for the city property is pending.  

April 19 

Officer Clint Perkins took a report of a missing package delivered by UPS to a residence on West Lane St. on April 6. The reporting party advised that the package was stolen from his porch and was valued at $875. He advised he reported the stolen package on line two weeks prior but was advised to make an incident report with the local police. This case is under investigation.

April 20

Officer Perkins took a criminal trespass report from a caller who advised that they had seen a video online that was filmed inside of a local building that was private property. After further investigation Perkins identified the subject and located the building. This case is under further investigation.  

April 22 

Officer Joe Andrade was dispatched to a disturbance on Puckett St. After officers made contact with both parties, it was determined that no offense occurred.  

April 25 

Sgt. Delton Graves arrested James Girard at his residence on Puckett St. for a Quitman city warrant for failure to appear. Girard was transported to Wood County jail.  

April 29 

Officer Perkins responded to the Sweet Expressions Flower Shop on N. Winnsboro St. for a criminal trespass incident. The white male was trespassed off the property and advised of the consequences if he returned. This came after the man was exhibiting strange behavior.

May 1

Lt. Tucker and Chief Farmer responded to the Wing Dingers restaurant on N. Main St. for a requested criminal trespass warning. There was a white male at the business exhibiting strange behavior, making the staff uncomfortable. The man was trespassed off the property and was advised of the consequences if he returned.

Officer Andrade received a phone call at 10:25 p.m. from a person who advised that his residence is on Highland Dr., and his wife called him that someone was banging on the front door and then fled. Andrade could not get a description of the person who fled. Andrade patrolled the area and was unable to locate the subject.

May 4

Officer Perkins responded to the NS Nonstop Nutrition business on S. Main St. for a criminal trespass warning. There was a white male exhibiting strange behavior and the business owner did not want him back on the property. The subject was trespassed off the property and was advised of the consequences if he returned.

Sgt.  Graves arrested William Perry at his residence on S. Main St. for a Wood County warrant for failure to appear on a criminal trespass. Perry was transported to Wood County jail.
