Quitman Police Report
The Quitman Police Department answered 155 calls for service from Dec. 1-18, issued seven traffic citations and 10 traffic warnings and took five reports.
DecEMBER 7
Sgt. John Cooper met with a person who advised he was a victim of an assault. The suspect had assaulted the victim by punching him in the face in the 1000 block of E. Goode St. This case was turned over to the criminal investigations division.
DecEMBER 10
Officer Joe Andrade responded to a call of an assault in the 1100 block of Oak Grove Road. The suspect left the scene before Andrade’s arrival. Andrade spoke to the victim who advised he wanted to file charges. This case was turned over to the criminal investigations division.
DecEMBER 15
Capt. Clint Perkins responded to the Wesley House in the 1000 block of E. Goode St. for an inquest. An 89-year-old resident had passed away in the night from natural causes. At the family’s request Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home was called.
DecEMBER 16
Lt. Scott Gallimore was dispatched to a business in the 400 block of E. Goode St. The victim advised that Andrew McLemore had bond conditions which prohibited him from coming within 200 feet of her. He was arrested for violation of bond conditions and transported to Wood County Jail.
