Quitman Police Report
The Quitman Police Department answered 230 calls for service from Jan. 16-Feb. 5, issued 27 traffic citations and 56 traffic warnings, three criminal trespass warnings and took eight reports.
JanUARY 22
Officer Joe Andrade responded to the Triple G Storage buildings at 1122 E. Goode St. for a criminal mischief. The person advised the suspect vehicle ran through the security gate causing major damage. The vehicle was captured on surveillance camera. This case has been forwarded to criminal investigations.
January 30
Officer Joseph Gatewood made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of E. Goode St. for failing to stop and remain stopped for school bus. After identifying the driver as Clayton Shelton, he was arrested for a warrant for burglary of a habitation out of Upshur County Sheriff’s Office and transported to Wood County Jail.
January 31
Officer Joseph Gatewood made a traffic stop for expired motor vehicle registration in the 300 block of S. Main St. Kaiden Clanton was arrested for driving while license invalid without financial responsibility and transported to Wood County Jail.
