Quitman writer earns prize for best entry in group’s contest
Jean Pamplin presented a $100 check to Jenniffer Hudson Connors, of Quitman, for her winning entry in the Northeast Texas Writers Organization writing contest.
A group of readers at Lake Cypress Springs partnered with NETWO and provided the funds for the contest. The readers selected the winner. Pamplin, a NETWO founder, provided photographs to be used as prompts for the short stories.
Hudson Connors said, “It was a fun challenge to write something completely different from my usual writing. I loved the idea of readers supporting the creative efforts of writers in this way.”
Members of the group meet regularly at the Speakeasy Coffeehouse to share and critique each other’s work.
