Rachel’s Challenge program coming to Mineola schools

Rachel’s Challenge (RC) will be at the Mineola High School gym Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m.

RC is a national nonprofit based on the life and writings of Rachel Scott, the first victim in the Columbine High School shooting. The K-12 programming stimulates academic and social-emotional learning by focusing on the connection between students, faculty and staff.

RC has delivered life changing programs to over 30 million since 2001. Live and digital programs work in conjunction with a school’s existing programs to create a culture less susceptible to harassment, isolation and violence. Eight school shootings have been prevented, and on average 150 suicides are averted yearly based on voluntary reporting.
