Schools won’t require weather makeup days
Despite missing two days of school for bad weather last week, districts in western Wood County will not have to make up the missed days.
Alba-Golden, Mineola, Quitman and Yantis schools reported that their school calendars have made allowances and the two days won’t have to be made up.
Some districts dismissed early last Monday as a winter storm made its way eastward, closing Tuesday and Wednesday and opting for a late start of Thursday.
All extracurricular activities were also suspended on Tuesday.
Make up basketball games were played on Thursday for varsity squads that missed Tuesday games.
Alba-Golden had a bye that night and resumed regular play on Friday.
