Steven Miles McWilliam 1951-2022

Steven Miles McWilliams of Alba went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on June 3, 2022. He was born on Jan. 7, 1951, in Dallas to James Word McWilliams and Serena Anne Miller. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1968 and started working for Southwestern Bell. Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing alongside his wife, Sandra. He was a true sports fan of the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. He could also be found cross-stitching complicated designs, turning the potter’s wheel, listening along to his favorite records and “hunting” for rare art pieces – there were very few things he didn’t try, and when he really enjoyed it, he quickly became an expert.

Steve married Sandra Lynn McWilliams in July 2004, who became his partner, friend and was someone who added lots of love (and many more kids!) to his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, and his daughters, Talitha Darcy and husband Stacy Edwin Smith of Centerville, Talanea Michael and husband Jason Stayton of Midlothian, along with step-children, Brian, John Paul, Karissa, Joshua, Ruth Ann, David, Allison, Joel, Philip and Julie as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was loved dearly and will be missed. As he is rejoicing in heaven, we hope you will join us for a memorial to celebrate his life on June 25, 2022, 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, 209 N. Pacific St., Mineola.
