Students, staff honored at MISD board meeting
In student recognition at Monday’s Mineola School Board meeting, all-state high school band students Gabby Wolf and Emily Miller were honored.
Primary students of the month are second graders Jolene York and Domenic Izzi.
Elementary campus honorees are fourth graders Anniston Tibbs and Aden Ballentine.
The Middle School campus chose seventh graders Sebastian Klodnicki and Vanessa Anaya.
At the high school, sophomores Jordan Saxon and Leo Rogers were selected.
Support staff of the month honor went to Twanna Foley with middle school food services.
Teacher of the month is Heather Nutt at the primary school, also the campus’s teacher of the year.
Program highlight was the health sciences career and technical education program, with presentations from three students, one from each of the past three years.
Coordinator Cindy Robinson noted Mineola students are passing their industry certification exams at a 94% rate compared to the national average of 74%.
Students in the program can receive three certifications.
