The boys are back in town

The Quitman Bulldogs started summer drills under new head coach Shane Webber Monday evening at the high school practice field. Volleyball, band, cheerleaders and cross country have also begun preparations for the fall season. The first football game is Aug. 27 at Cumby while the volleyball team hosts Cumby Aug. 10 to open the season.

Workouts for the Mineola Yellojacket football team are underway at Meredith Memorial Stadium. Drills got started Monday morning with temperatures unseasonably cool in the 70s. The football season begins on Friday, Aug. 27 at Canton, and the Yellowjackets have announced that all ten regular season games will be live-streamed, along with ten volleyball games. The Lady Jackets will spend the early part of the season on the road, with the home opener Sept. 3 against Wills Point.
