The Sound of the Swarm celebrates
A ribbon cutting for the new band hall, presentation of the gold medals from the state marching band championship and the annual Christmas concert made for a busy day for the Sound of the Swarm Mineola High School band Thursday.
The new band hall gives the growing program room to grow some more.
The medal ceremony included a meal and special cakes for the band and guests.
The new Mineola High School band hall was officially dedicated last Thursday with a ribbon cutting and tours. The $1.7 million project, which included renovations to the older band and theater facilities, was paid for from the district’s fund balance.
