MUSIC ENCORE

Music in May in downtown Mineola will have an encore performance on Thursday, June 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the downtown gazebo featuring the music of Swoape from Alba. No charge to attend, and lawn chairs are recommended. 

WOOD ARTISANS

The Mineola League of the Arts will host a wood turning and carving show and sale Friday and Saturday, June 10-11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the MLOTA building at 200 W. Blair. 

HEALTH FAIR

The Wood County Health Advisory Council is sponsoring a free health fair at Gov. Jim Hogg City Park and the Quitman Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11. Representatives from UT Health East Texas will be available to provide healthcare information and free health screenings. There also will be live entertainment, giveaways, children’s activities, food and local vendors and a chance to win prizes throughout the day. 

COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY

Faith Baptist Church in Quitman will host a Community Block Party Saturday, June 11 from 6-8 p.m. on the church parking lot, 405 S. Hart St. The block party is for the whole community to gather for an evening of games, inflatables, cake walk, petting zoo, free grilled hotdogs and more. 

GARDEN TOUR

The Fannie Marchman Garden Club will hold its 2nd Annual Garden Tour June 11 from  9 a.m.-5 p.m. in Mineola

Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased at any home on the tour.
