Thomas Burton Finley  1940-2025

Thomas Burton Finley, 84, of Mineola, formerly of Dallas, passed away peacefully at home on June 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom, known affectionately as “PawPaw,” was born in Dallas on June 7, 1940 to Warren T. and Roberta Finley. Thomas Finley served in the US Army as a tank commander, before beginning a long and successful career as a graphic engineer. Tom and his wife, Betty, moved to Mineola in 1997 and have been active community members since that time.

Tom was preceded in death by both of his parents and his wife, Betty. He is survived by his sister, Carol Barnes and her husband Jerry; his son, Stephen Finley and his wife Jaime; daughter, Leslie Bloodworth and husband Daniel; as well as eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many who became family by choice. 

His celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1 p.m. at First Methodist Ministry Center, 612 N. Newsom St., Mineola, TX 75773.
