Thomas Emmitt Harbin  1966-2021

Thomas Emmitt Harbin Jr., 55, of Quitman passed away at his home with his family by his side on Sept. 1, 2021. 

Thomas was born on July 23, 1966 in Winnsboro to parents Thomas Emmitt Harbin Sr. and Linda Ruth Bland. He has been a long-time resident of the area. He was a very active man. He loved fishing, the Quitman Bulldogs and most of all his family. 

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Harbin Sr.; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Tommie Harbin; maternal grandparents, Roger L. and Margaret Laminack Bland; stepfather, Walter B. Burns; and nieces, Lindsey and Kendra Matheson. 

He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Wilson Harbin; mother, Linda Ruth Burns; children, Brianna Davis and  husband Donovan of Midland, Corey Harbin and wife Bethany of Quitman and Daniel Harbin of Quitman; stepdaughter, Katie Schreuders and husband Clint of Hawkins; stepson, Kevin Wilson and wife Sade of Arkansas; sister, Diane Dubose of Fort Worth; brother, Brian Harbin of Quitman; grandchildren, Landon Davis, Emily and Kennedy Davis; step-granddaughter, Isabella Wilson; also several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, as well as the friends he made throughout his lifetime who will miss him dearly. 

Visitation for Mr. Harbin was held at Lowe-Gardner Funeral Chapel on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. followed by graveside service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Quitman Athletic Department or to the American Cancer Society.
