Mineola ISD administration will look quite different next school year.
At Monday’s school board meeting, Superintendent Cody Mize announced that the district’s high school and middle school principals, Mike Sorenson and Kendall Gould, will be retiring at the end of the school term in May.
Sorenson has 41 years in public education, with the last three as the high school principal and 14 years with the district.
Gould has spent 30 years in education, 25 of that with MISD.
Mize also announced the retirements of high school theater arts teacher Terri Dievendorf and Spanish teacher Coco Moffatt.
He noted the resignation of 4th grade teacher Janda Groves and recommended Jessica Bryant as her replacement.
Following the annual closed-door evaluation of the superintendent, Mize was offered a one-year extension to his contract through June 2027 and a 5% cost-of-living pay raise.
