Vard Everett “Ed” Hooten Jr., 1939-2021

Vard Everett “Ed” Hooten Jr. of Mineola passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 in Quitman. He was born on Sept. 17, 1939 in Cedarville, Ark. to the late Vard Everett Hooten Sr. and Vesta May Hooten.

Mr. Hooten was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Dale Hooten, and brother, Alvis Hooten.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Hooten; two sons; two stepsons; four brothers; three sisters; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial service was held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola with Chaplain Wayne Bare officiating.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
