White elected Kiwanis area lt. governor
Kevin White of Mineola was elected Kiwanis Division 34 lieutenant governor last week at the division meeting in Gilmer. Seven clubs are in this division including Mineola, Quitman-Lake Fork, Van, Tyler Rose City, Holly Lake, Hideaway Lake and Gilmer. Kevin served as president of the Mineola Club in 2019-2020, where he was a Distinguished Club president and was awarded the C.T. Bush award.

Kevin White of Mineola was elected Kiwanis Division 34 lieutenant governor last week at the division meeting in Gilmer. Seven clubs are in this division including Mineola, Quitman-Lake Fork, Van, Tyler Rose City, Holly Lake, Hideaway Lake and Gilmer. Kevin served as president of the Mineola Club in 2019-2020, where he was a Distinguished Club president and was awarded the C.T. Bush award.
Kevin is finishing his term as mayor of Mineola. He was a city council member prior to that. He also serves on the board for the East Texas Council of Governments where he is secretary/treasurer. He is on the board for the East Texas Workforce Solutions representing Wood County.
Some of the local organizations that he is a member of include the Mineola Civic Center Board treasurer, Maxine Nash Scholarship board, Wood County Camp of Gideon’s International, Texas Baptist Men and trustee and deacon of First Baptist Church of Mineola.
After retiring from 30 years in education as a teacher, coach and administrator, Kevin devotes his time to the community and is a real estate agent with Trophy Creek Property Company and an independent oil and gas landman.
As Kiwanis Division 34 Lt. Governor, Kevin will assist the clubs in his division and act as a liaison between the clubs and the Texas-Oklahoma District administrators. His term begins Oct. 1, but he will be working with the current Lt. Governor Gabe Sansing of Hideaway Lake Kiwanis in his duties until October.
