March 11

Deputy John Cooper was sent to the Mineola Police Dept. for the report of an assault. When talking to the victim, Cooper was told that the victim was punched by her boyfriend’s grandson. Cooper saw that the victim was swollen and beginning to bruise. Due to the suspect being a juvenile, the case will be forwarded to juvenile probation.

Deputy Cooper was dispatched to CR 2944 for a theft call. The reporting party stated her purse was missing. She said she left it at a friend’s house in Alba, and when she returned to get it, it was gone. The report will be forwarded to Investigators.

Deputy Cooper responded to FM 49 for a theft call. A man reported he let a family member borrow a shotgun and they will not return it. After speaking with both parties, a case will be forwarded to the criminal investigation division.

Sgt. Heather Bailey went to CR 2930 in Golden for a burglary in progress. The homeowner was returning home from a walk when she observed two individuals walking around her house and shop in possession of a stolen trailer. Fletcher Berry Eisenmenger, 70, of Lindale and Joe Nanez, Jr., 56, of Lindale were arrested for theft and taken to the Wood County Jail.

March 12

Deputies Dustin Green, Jaclyn Skinner and Sgt. Austin Milbourn responded to FM 1799 for an assault.  Deputies spoke with the reporting party who stated an adult assaulted a juvenile at the location. The suspect left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. The case will be referred to Investigators.

Deputy Green responded to a threat reported on Comanche. A man stated his neighbor was accusing him of taking a tarp. The man threatened the complainant. Due to the aggressor’s erratic behavior and the complainant being in fear, Kenneth Wayne Biggs, 58, of Quitman, was arrested for assault by threat.  

March 13

Deputy Jonah Croney was dispatched to FM 14 for a theft report. A woman advised she had several pieces of jewelry missing. The report will be forwarded to investigators for further investigation.

Deputy Skinner and Sgt. Milbourn responded to S. Osborn St. for a disturbance. They were advised a woman was in an argument with her boyfriend about who was to take the vehicle due to an ending of their relationship. The parties agreed to work out the issue civilly and left the location. The vehicle stayed at the location due to the keys being flushed in the toilet.

March 14

Deputy Green responded to the sheriff’s office regarding a deadly conduct report. A woman stated her sister’s soon-to-be ex-husband was standing in front of her grandmother’s property with a gun. She stated while she drove by, the man pointed the gun in their direction. The case will be forwarded to the criminal investigation division for further investigation.

Deputy David Tipps was dispatched to CR 1885 for criminal mischief. The property owner stated when she left her property she chained and locked her gate. When she arrived home, the lock had been cut.  The case will be submitted for further investigation.

Sgt. Milbourn was sent to CR 2641 regarding theft of a firearm. The reporting party believes his live-in girlfriend had possibly taken his guns and pawned them. This case will be forwarded to CID for further investigation.

March 15

Deputy Hudson went to the UT Health emergency room for a report of a dog bite. A woman who resides on PR 6113 stated she went outside and saw a dog on her property. Due to the darkness, she thought it was one of her dogs. By the time she realized it wasn’t, the dog charged her and began biting her.  Deputies attempted to locate the dog but were unable to.

Deputy Andrew Morrison responded to a shots fired call on Blue Sky Lane. The reporting party stated he was sitting in his hangar when he heard gunshots. He heard two bullets hit the roof of the hangar, looked up and saw two holes in the roof. A report of the incident was taken.

Deputy McKenzie Chandler conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 80. Chandler made contact with the driver, who had an expired license and no insurance. Due to circumstances on scene, consent to search was given to Chandler to search his vehicle. Brandon James Barrow, 38, of Big Sandy, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance PG 1 more than one gram and less four grams.

March 16

James Paul Johnson, 37, of Quitman was arrested for failure to comply with registration requirements when it was learned that he had changed jobs without informing his sex offender registrar of a change in employment.

Deputy Cooper responded to Westside Dr. for criminal mischief. He learned a man was driving a company owned vehicle when someone passed him on the shoulder of the roadway and threw numerous objects out of the truck. A bottle struck the victim’s windshield, causing it to crack. The case will be forwarded to criminal investigations for further review.
