August 4

Deputy John Cooper was dispatched to CR 2487 regarding a theft of a firearm. The party stated her late husband’s gun was missing from her residence. She was unsure of who would have taken the firearm but gave Deputy Cooper a list of people that had access to her residence. The case will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

Deputy Cooper responded to CR 2150 for a deadly conduct report. The party stated he and his son were driving down the road when someone pointed a long gun at them. They were able to give information regarding the individual. Cooper went to the residence to speak with the individual. The man denied pointing the gun at the reporting parties, but a witness on scene stated they saw the incident and that he did point a gun at them. Paul James Crowley, 19, of Quitman was arrested for deadly conduct.

August 5

Deputy Jonah Croney took an assault call on W. Hwy. 80. The party and victim told Croney the suspect hit them with a baseball bat. The party also stated she was hit with a wooden flower pot. Jennifer Michelle Hunt, 36, of Quitman was arrested for aggravated assault of date/family/household member with weapon.

Deputy Delton Graves took a phone report involving harassment. The party stated his ex-girlfriend was harassing him while he was driving. He stated she attempted to cut him off multiple times. The report was documented for civil purposes.

Deputy Cooper was notified of a request to speak. The party stated a credit card and cash were missing from her residence on E. Hwy. 80. The party was able to give information for a suspect. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Sgt. Austin Milbourn and Deputy Graves responded to FM 17 for a disturbance. The party told dispatch his mother and father were in a physical altercation. Danna Avvon Drew, 38, of Alba was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family violence.

Deputy Croney was notified of a request to speak regarding a terroristic threat. The party stated her niece and other family members were receiving threatening messages from her ex-boyfriend. The messages concerned the reporting party and requested he be checked on. When deputies went to his location, they were able to speak with him and determine he was OK.

August 6

Deputy McKenzie Chandler was on patrol on FM 49. He observed a vehicle with an expired registration sticker. Chandler conducted a traffic stop. Christopher Roy Peacock, 54, of Mineola was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 >=1g<4g.

Deputy Michael Allison contacted a party regarding a theft on Cimarron Trail, who stated his at-home nurse retrieved a bag out of his car for him. He stated she was in the car for some time. After she left, he noticed items missing out of the bag. The victim contacted the nurse’s supervisor and the sheriff’s office. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy LaDawn McGee was dispatched to CR 4560 for criminal mischief. The victim stated she noticed damage to her vehicle. It is unknown when the damage occurred.

Deputy Allison was advised by dispatch to be on the lookout for a vehicle that the owner had reported missing. The owner stated her grandson took the vehicle after an argument. Since the grandson has been given permission to drive the vehicle and has done so every day, Allison told her she was not able to report the vehicle stolen.

Deputy Corbin Hanner took a theft report on FM 14. The homeowner stated he arrived home from work and noticed several firearms missing. He was able to give a possible suspect in the theft. The case will be submitted to CID.

August 7

Deputy Cole Hudson was dispatched to FM 778 for an alarm. Hudson checked the exterior of the residence. He observed a window that had been broken. No property was missing from the interior of the residence. CID will be receiving the case.

Sgt. Jeremy Smith responded to CR 2370 for criminal mischief. The reporting party stated he was sitting in his vehicle, outside his residence, when another vehicle drove by and threw an egg out of the passenger side window, striking his vehicle once.

August 8

Deputy Linda Williams took a phone report of a theft. The party stated he was staying with a friend on Sioux St. when his Apple iPad, iPad cover and Apple Pencil were stolen from his vehicle. He did not wish to pursue charges but did want it documented.

Deputy Chandler was on routine patrol on CR 2560 when he observed a vehicle operating with no license plate. As he caught up to the vehicle, he observed a person exit the passenger side and run, crossing a fence. The driver told Deputy Chandler the identity of the passenger and stated he had warrants. A tracking canine officer was requested. Justin Royce Bailey, 28, of Mineola was arrested for evading arrest and his outstanding warrant.

August 9

Deputy Jim Rapp was dispatched to CR 3780 for a theft. The party stated he parked a vehicle where he was working for a coworker to pick up. After it was picked up, it was discovered that the catalytic converter was stolen from the truck. CID will be working the case.

Deputy Cooper was notified by dispatch of a subject who wanted to report a theft of a firearm. The party stated he had a firearm stolen from his vehicle on CR 1658. The case will be forwarded to CID.

August 10

Deputy Rapp spoke with an individual on CR 3940. She stated someone had come to the location to drop off some garbage, but while she was there, she took things that had been dropped off by other people. The female who had taken the items was contacted and informed she would have to return the items to the facility.

Deputy Williams responded to a dispute in progress on Hwy. 37. The party told dispatch a male at the location came up to her car and started yelling at her. Before Williams arrived, the subject left. Once on scene, the victim stated her boyfriend was upset with her. She stated he never touched her and did not wish to press charges.

Deputy Andrew Morrison was dispatched to Apache for an assault. The party stated her father and his girlfriend were fighting. Morrison learned from the victim that there was a witness, who confirmed the events. Gary McCoy, 56, of Quitman was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
