May 4

Deputy Cooper, traffic stop, FM 778; expired registration, attempted to pull vehicle over, refused to stop for two miles, driver made wide turn into driveway attempting to block officer’s view of driver removing items from vehicle. Cooper detected odor of burned marijuana inside vehicle, located baggies containing crystal-like substance in driveway near vehicle, glass pipe with residue, bag matching ones on driveway that contained residue. Michael Robbins, 61, Jacksonville arrested for possession of controlled substance and evading arrest. 

Sgt. Cox, criminal trespass, County Road 1947; caller advised found neighbor on property, asked her to leave, not first time, requested her criminally trespassed.

Deputy Williams, theft, FM 2966; someone broke into shed on rental property, stole multiple items, no known suspects, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Rapp, suicidal subject, FM 1799; EMS transported to Quitman ER.

Deputy Kovic, animal bite, County Road 1660; owner stated dog too young to get needed vaccines. Dog was old enough, owner notified to get vaccines, quarantine dog.

Deputy Rapp, disturbance, Hwy. 154; victim attempting to check on his child, girlfriend’s mother confronted him, male subject attempted to calm him down, they began to wrestle. No parties wished to pursue charges, separated.

Deputy Rapp, harassment; boyfriend’s ex-wife attempted to text her multiple times, tried to block her, case  forwarded to investigations.

May 5 

Sgt. Skinner, information, Hwy. 80; caller advised a wanted person is frequently at residence in area, located vehicle in driveway with person inside. As Skinner approached, vehicle attempted to flee. Skinner noticed glass pipe in plain view in passenger’s seat, located multiple baggies of crystal-like substance. David Shimic, 36, Tyler arrested for possession of controlled substance.

Deputy Mayer, suicidal subject, Holiday Villages; transported to Quitman ER.

Deputy Kovic, theft, FM 2869; victim advised girlfriend took his keys and credit card, bank advised credit card charged $800; victim wishes to pursue charges, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Rapp, structure fire, Holly Lake Ranch; homeowner advised lightning struck house, caused fire to start in breaker box.

May 6 

Deputy Whisenhunt, suicidal subject, FM 852; deputies witnessed suspect make threats to neighbors, transported to UT North for evaluation.

Sgt. Milbourn, suspicious person, Holiday Villages; subject appeared to be under influence, standing in middle of road. Subject advised did not want to hurt himself or others, agreed to go inside.

Deputy Rapp, burglary, FM 778; daughter’s storage unit broken into after lock cut, believed multiple items missing, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Whisenhunt, animal complaint, neighbor’s dog would jump fence, attacked their dog in the past. Owner notified of issues if dog gets out again.

May 7 

Deputy Pollard, theft, FM 312; victim advised locked vehicle missing, personal belongings inside. Vehicle entered as stolen, forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Hughes and Deputy Cooper, warrant service, County Road 1970; neighbor advised deputies suspect inside, refused to come outs. After suspect came out, female located inside residence, advised she knew the person had a felony, she had been advised to call law enforcement once she saw suspect. Shelly Hurley, 56, Greenville arrested for hindering apprehension of known felon.

Deputy Hughes, traffic stop ,FM 515; observed vehicle fail to stop at 154 and 515, attempted to stop vehicle, observed driver showing multiple signs of nervousness, began questioning, driver declined consent to search, canine notified, alerted on vehicle. Hughes located crystal-like substance and firearm. Jason Boles, 50, Fruitvale arrested for possession of controlled substance and unlawful carry of weapon.

Deputy Pollard, wanted person; caller advised friend called, stated they were wanted, needed Sheriff’s Office to pick up. Corey Marks, 52, Winnsboro placed into custody, transported to jail.

Sgt. Hanner, traffic stop, FM 514; observed vehicle avoid patrol car three times, fail to stop at stop sign, fail to drive in single lane, attempted to stop. While speaking with driver, Hanner observed scent of marijuana, located small bag of crystal substance, large bag of crystal substance on person. Lacey Henson, 37, Winnsboro and Robert McKenzie, 39, Winnsboro arrested and transported to jail. 

May 8 

Deputy Hughes, shots fired, County Road 4846; vehicle in field, turned lights off, attempted to flee. Sgt Hanner located vehicle, stopped it. Parties advised shooting animals from road, game warden notified, advised to document evidence, forward case to him. 

Deputy Croney, animal bite; victim at Lake Quitman, dog bit her twice, dog owner advised dog did not have vaccines, notified the dog needed to be quarantined.

Deputy Rapp, disturbance in vehicle, County Road 2142. Mineola PD got vehicle stopped, driver advised passenger jerked on wheel, caused crash, proceeded to head toward Mineola, passenger advised she was choked, pulled on steering wheel. Deputy observed red marks on passenger’s throat consistent with someone squeezing neck. Arik Boyd, 31, Grand Saline arrested for assault family violence.

May 9

Deputy Rapp, child abuse; caller advised husband’s sons coming home with bruises after visiting mother, had taken photos, forwarded to CPS worker; would like to press charges, case forwarded to investigators.

Deputy Rapp, suicidal subject, Holly Lake Ranch; caller having suicidal thoughts, made plans to act, went voluntarily with EMS to be evaluated.

Deputy Williams, assault, County Road 3580; victim picked up by ex-boyfriend who wanted to talk. After getting into suspect’s vehicle, he began checking victim’s phone, accusing her of talking to other men. Suspect brandished firearm, took her to family member’s residence. She was strangled until she passed out, assaulted multiple times, would like to press charges, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Kovic, criminal mischief, County Road 2168; vehicle window broken, may have been from pellet gun, no suspects, pellet not located.

Deputy Cooper, stranded motorist, S. Hwy. 37; caller had been at residence earlier in day, individuals tied him up, took belongings. Deputy unable to locate markings on victim confirming story, continued changing story, observed signs may be under influence, victim advised under influence of beer. William Blan, 36, Hawkins arrested for public intoxication.

May 10

Deputy Baldwin, suicidal subject, FM 1799; caller’s brother entered parents’ bedroom with knife, trying to fight people. Upon deputy’s arrival, subject made suicidal comments, transported to UT North for evaluation.

Deputy Williams, theft, complainant advised son took money from lock box, used to buy vehicle, found keys in suspect’s boots, got location of vehicle, able to start, would like to press charges, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Mayer and Sgt. Skinner, out-of-control person, County Road 4641; observed male running around in pasture, able to get him to come back to residence, was detained, advised he became upset, drank beer, took unprescribed medicine. James Cox, 17, Winnsboro arrested for consumption of alcohol by minor. 

Sgt. Sepulvado, animal complaint; victim advised boyfriend’s son poisoned four dogs at her residence, would like to criminally trespass suspect from property.

Deputy Kovic, theft, County Road 2121; neighbors took dog house from deceased mother’s residence, caller would like to get it back without pressing charges. Deputy unable contact neighbors, left card to have them call back.
