Wood County Sheriff’s Report
July 13
Deputy Kovic, identity theft; someone opened Verizon account in caller’s name, debt collector company advised caller needed to make a report, will fill out identity theft packet.
Deputy Williams, disturbance, County Road 4700; male was asked to come to residence, later in the night was bitten by his wife, wife advised she was strangled by husband. Due to language barrier, conflicting stories, neither party arrested.
Deputy Kovic, animal complaint, County Road 2920; dog got inside vehicle, would not leave. Deputy able to remove dog from vehicle.
July 14
Deputy Rapp, deadly conduct; victim is mail carrier, run off road by female, has happened multiple times, would like to press charges, provided pictures, video of incident, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Baldwin, beach violation, Lake Holbrook. Multiple people had alcohol, causing others to become upset, parties left scene.
Deputy Gould, theft, Hwy. 154; when victim returned from fishing, noticed vehicle out of gas, was gas in truck before he left to fish, did not have suspects.
July 15
Deputy Whisenhunt, theft; caller left vehicle at friend’s house for a few months, now gone, unable to locate vehicle at wrecker’s yard, friend believes property owner had vehicle removed.
Sgt. Skinner, traffic stop, County Road 3802; vehicle failed to maintain single lane or use blinker, odor of marijuana coming from vehicle, driver placed bag of green substance on car. Anna Thompson, 23, Hawkins arrested for possession of marijuana.
Deputy Croney, theft report, County Road 1585; someone stole basketball goal from yard, did not have suspect.
July 16
Deputy Hughes, fraud; caller selling something on Facebook given counterfeit money, case forwarded to investigations.
Sgt. Milbourn, disturbance, FM 2966; party appeared to be hallucinating, making strange statements, had warrants from another county, arrested. Male who lived at house stated meth inside the residence, confiscated, will be further investigated.
Deputy Pollard, complaint, Holiday Village; neighbor watering plants, water getting on property, killing trees, neighbor advised to get different sprinkler.
Deputy Morrison and Sgt. Milbourn, disturbance, County Road 2146; individuals left scene, believed one was wanted, vehicle drove back by house, pulled over. Tristan Wheeler, 23, Quitman arrested for outstanding warrant.
Cpl. Cooper, traffic stop, FM 14; observed vehicle with no front license plate, observed scent of marijuana, after search, 4.5 oz. of marijuana located. Darian Adams, 20, Garland arrested for possession of marijuana.
July 17
Deputy Hughes and Cpl. Cooper, disturbance, FM 49; deputies heard possible gunshot from camper, suspect detained, victim advised during argument suspect pointed gun. Claude Vaughn, 45, Mineola arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon and possession of controlled substance.
Deputy Pollard, suspicious person Hwy. 37; observed suspect charging at male, when confronted, began charging deputy. Christopher Hasten, 19, Mineola arrested for disorderly conduct.
July 18
Deputy Williams, criminal mischief, County Road 4116, mailbox damaged, no suspects.
Deputy Rapp, burglary, County Road 2164; victim believes ex-tenant who was evicted, kicked in door, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Atkinson, harassment; victim’s mother harassing her over text, gave her daughter unknown medicine, forwarded to CPS.
July 19
Deputy Gould, theft; caller had person perform work, used her phone to send him money, did not wish to pursue charges, needed report to dispute charge.
Deputy Kovic, criminal trespass, Hwy. 80; male kept showing up at victim’s house, did not want him there, suspect criminally trespassed, told to not return.
Deputy Williams, terroristic threat by phone; caller’s tenants threatened to burn down house, did not wish to pursue charges, wanted it documented.
