Wood County Sheriff’s Report
November 23
Sgt. Milbourn, request to speak; caller believes sex offender in violation of registration duties, not living at listed address, has possibly left the county, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Croney, fraud; caller received three fraudulent charges on credit card, told to make a report, provided possible suspect, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Whisenhunt, theft; someone had made copy of caller’s temporary tag, using it on toll road, provided suspect vehicle, case forwarded to investigations.
Two animal calls, one agency assist.
November 24
Deputy Morrison, disturbance, County Road 2174; victim’s boyfriend was drinking, became upset due to there being no propane to light heater, suspect began pushing victim, tried to choke her. Ian McGaughey, 37, Quitman arrested for assault.

November 25
Deputy Rapp, disturbance, County Road 4390; as victim was getting mail, neighbor pointed gun at her dog and her. Security camera video showed dog running at suspect, does not show pointing firearm at victim.
Deputy Kovic, terroristic threat, County Road 3880; victim advised someone trying to pick up dog but had not paid full amount, suspect’s boyfriend threatened to kill them, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Gould, disturbance, County Road 2501; victim was getting ready to visit his dad, suspect came in, began attempting to choke him, suspect stated she had been drinking, altercation never became physical. Scratches located on victim’s neck. Shari Weatherford, 44, Mineola arrested for assault.

November 26
Cpl. Baldwin, burglary, County Road 2210; property owner gave daughter loan, she gave him guns as collateral, daughter got brother to break into father’s residence, steal the firearms back.
Deputy Rapp, stolen property, Private Road 5801; caller believes equipment on property is stolen, which a check confirmed, equipment towed from residence.
Cpl. Baldwin, burglary, FM 14; victim told to check storage unit due to missing lock, observed it to be missing items. Baldwin observed lock on adjacent unit messed up, case forwarded to investigations.
One agency assist.
November 27
Sgt. Cox, theft, County Road 4430; homeowner observed two bicycles missing from residence, did not have bicycle information at time of report.
Cpl. Baldwin, theft, Private Road 7907; property owner’s neighbor told her someone was taking items from residence, took photo of suspect’s vehicle, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Hughes, agency assist, County Road 1210. Deputy contacted by Hopkins County to help look for vehicle, observed it pass him, pulled it over, observed odor of alcohol, driver unable to stand up. Michael Tutt, 35, Quitman arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Two animal calls, one transport.
November 28
Deputy Croney, burglary, FM 779; homeowner advised house had been gone through, multiple items missing, provided list of missing items, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Croney, theft; caller let daughter borrow vehicle, won’t return it, told to send letter to daughter requesting it back, then she can file report.
Two animal calls.
November 29
Sgt. Williams and Deputy Pollard, disturbance, Hwy. 37. Deputies had responded to address several times during day for same issue. Williams observed victim to have scratch marks, bleeding, suspect released due to their child being on scene, offense report will be filed.
Deputy Hughes, disturbance, FM 515; victim was sitting at party when someone walked up, hit him in the face. After speaking with another party, she advised the victim was cussing at someone and the suspect hit him in the face, no suspect information.
