January 25

Deputy Whisenhunt, identity theft; victim received notice that account opened in his name, company advised someone had used his Social Security number, case forwarded to investigations.

Cpl. Rapp and Deputy Burdick, warrant service, FM 779. Marvin Smith, 54, Alba arrested for outstanding warrant.

Lt. Milbourn, traffic stop, FM 778; observed vehicle parked on side of road, discovered there was no insurance on vehicle, driver did not have license, provided false name. William Bowden, 57, Hawkins arrested for failure to identify, outstanding warrants.

Cpl. Rapp, disturbance, County Road 3546; female advised husband and son got into altercation, husband put hands around son’s neck, victim advised father had been drinking, put hands around neck. Noah Burton, 37, Bronson arrested for assault.

Cpl. Baldwin, probation violation, adult probation office; probation officer advised when confronting someone about attempting to falsify test, they threw items in toilet, ran out of building, officer was provided pictures of items, case forwarded to investigations.

One transport.

January 26

Sgt. Cox and Sgt. Sepulvado, warrant service, Holiday Village. Gary McCoy, 57, Quitman arrested for outstanding warrant.

Deputy Kovic, burglary, FM 852; male stole two chainsaws from residence, photo of saws on property provided, deputy located saws, returned to owner.

Deputy Rapp, identity theft, County Road 2260; victim observed multiple duplicate charges while checking business bookkeeping, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Gould, burglary, County Road 2176; someone broke into van and camper, victim provided list of missing items, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Arellano, assault, Hwy. 154; as victim was getting into vehicle, observed car pull up behind him, he was struck in back of head, later discovered the suspect confused victim for another person, case forwarded to investigations.

Two agency assists.

January 27

Deputy Morrison, warrant service, County Road 2930. John Snider, 56, Alba arrested for outstanding warrant.

Deputy Croney, burglary, County Road 2550; witness provided picture of vehicle leaving property, suspect identified, property owner will check if items missing from residence.

Cpl. Cooper, warrant service, County Road 2100. Benjamin Howard, 31, Quitman arrested for outstanding warrant.

Two animal calls.

January 28

Cpl. Rapp, terroristic threat, County Road 2745; man threatening victim with gun, deputies located suspect, did not have gun, told people to leave property he owned.

Deputy Croney, missing dog at Sheriff’s Office; caller advised dog went missing, believed dog that Sheriff’s Office located was hers, returned dog to owner.

Sgt. Williams responded to a request to speak in Yantis. The caller advised she believes her ex-husband came to her residence and left items. The caller stated her ex-husband is following and harassing her. The caller was advised to contact her lawyer.

One agency assist.

January 29

Deputy Croney, warrant service, County Road 3802. Brent Banks, 32, Hawkins arrested for outstanding warrant.

Cpl. Cooper, unresponsive person, County Road 4940; located deceased individual, deputy asked deceased’s wife if he had used narcotics, she advised he did, deputy given consent to search room, located meth. CPS contacted, Kimberly Foster, 38, Quitman arrested for possession of controlled substance, child endangerment.

Two agency assists, two transports.

January 30

Sgt. Cox, welfare concern, Hwy. 154; located individual, having cell phone issues, everything OK.

Deputy Rapp, theft; caller advised male stole multiple tools, advised to make list of missing items.

Sgt. Williams, suspicious person, County Road 2432; homeowner went into laundry room to get water, observed male hiding behind door, yelled at male to leave, he walked out back door, homeowner believes her roommate let male in, denied it, subject not located.

Sgt. Cox, road hazard, FM 515; tree in roadway, fire department en route to remove tree.

January 31

Deputy Rapp, traffic hazard, County Road 3540; tractor slid off trailer into roadway, assisted in traffic control until wrecker removed tractor.

Deputy Hughes, scam; caller advised someone added him on social media, asked for $200 or they would release personal information, caller was advised to remove accounts, change account passwords.

Cpl. Mayer, animal complaint, Holiday Villages; someone had dog outside with no shelter, owner located, took animal inside.

Cpl. Mayer and Deputy Hughes, missing person, County Road 1813; subject advised her brother who possibly has mental issues missing from residence, observed gate to residence open, took missing person information.
