February 5
Deputy Smith, welfare check; subject advised she had been assaulted previously, suspect had already left scene, offense report completed.
Lt. Kovic, civil matter; victim in civil dispute, located vehicle involved in dispute, wished to press charges for other party keeping her keys, advised to contact court.
Sgt. Burdick, Deputy Haney, disturbance; juvenile son had assaulted victims, fled scene before deputies’ arrival, deputies located juvenile, Juvenile Probation contacted.
February 6
Deputy Smith, stolen trailer, FM 17; during night someone stole trailer from property, identifying information provided, entered as stolen.
Deputy Williams, theft; caller sent vehicle to shop to be worked on never received it back, caller did not wish to pursue charges, deputies have had similar calls with same business previously.
Deputy Haley, vehicle crash, CR 2320; accident caused damage to property, driver arrested by DPS for DWI.
February 7
Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, Deputy Holland, dangerous dog, Private Road 8594; dog that had been deemed dangerous was outside of fence in neighborhood, resident advised dog ran from her, got out of fence; resident, Dana Blackburn, found to have active warrant, transported to jail, dog transported to the Sheriff’s Office until owner could retrieve dog.
Deputy Pollard, violation of protection order; caller’s common law husband had been sending mail even though protection order was in place, offense report completed.
Deputy Hammond, follow up; victim who advised vehicle repossessed, registered owner holding victim’s purse as ransom, victim advised purse was returned but social security card was missing, offense report completed.
February 8
Cpl. Rich, Deputy Hammond, suspicious activity, Hawkins; two males in ski masks were attempting to get him and girlfriend in their vehicle, deputies located one subject walking to their vehicle. Bobby Peavy arrested for public intoxication, resisting arrest.
Deputy Williams, disturbance, CR 1112; caller wanted girlfriend’s son removed from residence due to them arguing, did not want to press charges, property owner advised he would stay separated for the night to prevent further issues.
Deputy Beck, agency assist, Mineola; Mineola PD received call of elderly lady who fell, broke arm, EMS transported subject.
February 9
Deputy Beck, traffic stop, Yantis; observed vehicle disregard stop sign, observed open container in vehicle. Driver Jorje Ibarra arrested for no drivers license, disregard stop sign and open container.
Deputies, criminal trespass; caller wanted male trespassed from house due to him hanging around kids, discovered the subject to be sex offender, subject issued trespass warning.
Deputies, runaway juvenile, Hawkins; deputies located juvenile at friend’s house, transported back to parents’ residence.
February 10
Sgt. Cox, burglary, FM 2966; store manager advised during night someone broke in, stole items, offense report completed.
Cpl. Skinner, mental health concern, Holly Lake Ranch; victim advised she was hearing and seeing things trying to hurt her, subject transported to receive treatment.
Deputies, welfare check, Lake Quitman; caller advised vehicle was in water, vehicle located fully submerged, one deceased occupant located inside vehicle.
February 11
Deputy Smith, warrant service, CR 1941. Amber Kornegay arrested for active warrant.
Sgt. Burdick, Deputy Haney, theft, Hawkins; female used caller’s debit card without permission, contact made at residence where suspect was located, caller eventually admitted giving female permission to use card.
Lt. Kovic, Sgt. Burdick, Deputy Haney, donkey out, Hwy. 37; deputies located donkey, removed from roadway, secured in nearby pasture.
