February 19

Cpl. Skinner, Deputy Smith, burglary, CR 2944; someone on security camera breaking into residence, deputies located female inside residence who advised she was staying at residence, ongoing dispute over who owns property in the residence.

Deputy Smith, caller with concerns on how to move out after she had been assaulted by family member, caller given information on proper steps to take, CPS notified.

Deputy Smith, suspicious circumstance; subject advised ex-wife recently left to another state, possibly doing drugs, has not heard from her, ex-wife entered as missing.

February 20 

Cpl. Skinner, theft; subject has had victim’s vehicle almost two years, wants it back, owner of business has refused to return vehicle, offense report completed.

Sgt. Cox, abandoned vehicle, CR 3256; no return on license plate, vehicle towed from property. 

Deputy Williams, disturbance, Hawkins; caller observed roommate grab his son, push him, victim gave very little details, did not wish to pursue charges.

February 21

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Whisenhunt, assault after the fact, Private Road 6536; caller’s grandson assaulted his mother, wanted to turn himself in, deputies observed suspect to have injuries to knuckles, advised he struck his mother multiple times, mother had visible signs of injury, checked out by EMS. Roland Land arrested for assault family violence. 

Sgt. Williams, Deputy Beck, agency assist, Hwy. 154; deputies responded twice to same location, during second call, it was discovered the subject entered family member’s room, began throwing items at them, causing her to fall out of wheel chair and injure herself, subject transported by EMS to be evaluated. 

February 22

Sgt. Burdick, damage to property; while caller’s wife was driving on FM 515, occupant of another vehicle threw item at car, which struck vehicle causing damage. 

Cpl. Rich, Deputy Hammond, theft, Hwy. 37; wrecker driver advised after pulling someone out of ditch, they drove off without payment along with chain still connected, deputies unable to locate vehicle. 

Deputies, agency assist; Smith County advised subject in vehicle possibly fleeing into Wood County with children inside, later advised in pursuit with vehicle, suspect vehicle was spiked, driver was taken into custody. 

February 23

Deputy Beck, disturbance, Clear Lake Motel; no evidence of physical altercations, verbal only.

Sgt. Morrison, theft of service; wrecker company assisted someone who was stuck, left without paying, still had equipment attached to vehicle, deputies located subject.

February 24

Sgt. Cox, theft, Hwy. 154, Yantis area; RV stolen from location, possible suspect information obtained, case forwarded to Investigations.

Deputies, terroristic threat; subject threatened by father, have been threats in the past according to her, further investigation will be completed.

Deputies, disturbance, Alba area; parties separated due to one leaving area, no physical altercation occurred.

February 25

Deputies, property stolen from deceased relative’s residence, Quitman area; request if subject’s identity found that they be trespassed, further investigation will be completed.

Deputies, welfare concern, Mineola area; shots being fired, juvenile present, deputies unable to ascertain that shots were fired, no children on scene, no injuries reported or found.
