March 5

Sgt. Cox, drunken subject; caller stated subject came into store intoxicated, cussing at her employees, advised to call the Sheriff’s Office next time subject returns, criminal trespass warning can be issued.

Sgt. Cox, animal complaint; neighbor came to caller’s residence stating his dogs had attacked neighbor’s dogs, asked for money to not call law enforcement, caller wished to criminally trespass neighbor from property.

Deputy Smith, Deputy Haney, suicidal subject; caller stated girlfriend has made suicidal statements, has history of self harm, deputies learned subject made self harm statements, transported by EMS for treatment.

March 6 

CID, Cpl. Skinner, Deputy Smith, Deputy Haney, traffic stop, CR 2389; passenger resisted deputies. Christi Brown arrested for resisting arrest, manufacture/deliver 4g<200g, and unlawful carrying of weapon. Deputies conducted welfare check on children. Dennis Johnson arrested for parole violation, possession of weapon, possession of controlled substance. CPS notified

Sgt. Cox, burglary, FM 778; victim owns several storage units, one was broken into, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Burdick, Deputy Williams, damage to property, Hwy. 37; caller advised camper had been burned down, occupant of camper possibly set it on fire, left prior to deputies’ arrival. Randal Moore arrived, arrested for active warrant.

Deputies dispatched to a wanted subject, Hwy. 69. Van Zandt County advised person with warrant at location possibly with stolen equipment and narcotics. Stephen Foster arrested on active warrant found in possession of stolen trailer.

March 7

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Whisenhunt, suicidal subject, FM 778; caller advised wife overdosed on medication; subject responsive but having medical issues, transported by EMS for treatment.

Deputy Beck, Deputy Gloar, medical call, Holly Lake Ranch; family brought child to hospital who got into grandparents’ medicine, grandparents advised it was an accident. CPS contacted.

Sgt. Williams, Deputy Beck, Deputy Gloar, assault, Private Road 5679; both involved parties advised they had been assaulted. Michael Dyer arrested for assault.

March 8

Deputy Pollard, theft; victim hired someone to cut tree down for him, a week later he discovered chainsaw missing, offense report completed, saw entered as stolen.

Sgt. Morrison, burglary of vehicle, CR 1540; during night someone went through victim’s son’s vehicle, left trunk open, causing damage to contents of trunk, contact made with neighbor’s son who admitted running through yard with friends, denies entering vehicle.

Sgt. Williams, agency assist, Alba; deputies observed vehicle enter gas station parking lot with no head lights on, driver stepped out of vehicle, seen stumbling into rear of store, driver found to have active warrants, resisted deputies while being placed into custody. Ian McGaughey arrested for active warrant, resisting arrest.

March 9

Deputy Pollard, fraud; victim stated someone gave his business a counterfeit bill. Deputies attempted to call number provided for suspect, but no answer, offense report completed.

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, warrant service, Hwy. 37; deputies spoke with occupant who advised wanted subject was inside. Chad Payne arrested on three active warrants.

Deputies, agency assist, Mineola. Mineola PD advised in high speed pursuit, deputies located driver’s parents, information forwarded to Mineola PD.

March 10

Deputy Smith, Deputy Haney, warrant service, Adult Probation. Tyler Rosa arrested on active warrant.

Deputy Smith, Deputy Haney, criminal mischief, CR 3909; property owner advised buildings had been broken into, vandalized, did not wish to pursue charges.

Sgt. Cox, assault; victim stated while at his residence, male swung machete at him, struck him with brass knuckles, case forwarded to investigations.

March 11

Deputy Smith, Deputy Haney, falsification of drug test, Adult Probation. Bobby Howle arrested for falsification of drug test.

Lt. Kovic, Sgt. Cox, Deputy Williams, criminal trespass, Hwy. 154; business owner stated male came into business with knife, would not leave store when asked, deputies located subject, issued trespass warning from property. 

Lt. Kovic, animal complaint, CR 1687; caller advised dog was shot, neighbor admitted killing it because it was on her property, will complete follow up in day light to get better location of incident.
