Work underway on entrance road to Mineola civic center
Work began Monday for the demolition and construction project scheduled for the Newsom St. entrance of Mineola Civic Center. The work will last 7-10 days.
During this time both the vehicle and pedestrian gates will be closed from Newsom St. The only entrance onto the civic center grounds will be from Ivy St.
The purpose of this project will be two-fold. First, it will repair the dip that causes vehicles to sway from side to side while entering the property. In addition, some improvements are being done to make it more visually appealing.
While this might cause some temporary inconvenience for some, it will be a much needed improvement for all.
