YISD voters head to the polls Tuesday
Yantis ISD voters go to the polls Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the YISD office from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters are being asked to approve the purchase of attendance credits from the state to satisfy requirements of mandatory recapture.
The district is considered property wealthy and falls under the provisions of the state’s Robin Hood school finance plan, whereby wealthy districts send some of their tax revenues to the state to support property poor districts.
If approved, the district would continue business as usual.
Should the measure fail YISD would face the possibility of some of its property being annexed by another district for tax purposes or consolidation.
