First responders honored, thanked

The Mineola Police Department received a gesture of thanks last Thursday morning as the Yellowjacket varsity football team prepared breakfast at the station for members of the force. The team used the meal as a symbolic moment to recognize our local first responders. more

Jackets swarm Big Sandy

The Mineola Yellowjackets defeated the Big Sandy Wildcats, 36-9, to wrap up the predistrict season Friday. The Yellowjackets dominated the game giving up a mere 117 yards on the night, while amassing 378 yards from scrimmage.  more

Three area schools host their gridiron district openers Friday. Harmony travels to Alba-Golden, Mineola faces off against West Rusk and Arp comes to Quitman. Local football fans are warned not to put too much credence into the early predistrict results, as a true second season will begin with Friday’s kickoffs. more

The Lady Jackets turned the corner last Tuesday in their district opener.  They put together an excellent match and produced a three-game win over the visiting Alba-Golden Lady Panthers. more

‘Jackets plow Farmers in homecoming

The Mineola and Farmersville match-up last Friday gave Mineola fans just about everything they could hope for. The Yellowjackets were on top of their game in a 40-3 homecomng win against the Farmers. more

Jackets just short in close call at Canton

At its most appealing, high school football should have intrigue, drama, intensity and a time element. If so, then the Mineola vs. Canton game of last Friday night is a stand-alone advertisement for the sport.

The Yellowjackets fell by a score of 28-27 in a most unique of games. Seldom does a game see three defensive touchdowns for one side, or two blocked extra points, or three 2-point conversion tries. It was sheer entertainment and excellent competition. more

Lady ‘Jacket CC takes first at Tyler Lee

The Mineola Lady Jackets cross country team captured first place at the Tyler Lee Classic Saturday, Sept. 7.

Canton gets past Mineola in four games as Lady Jackets prepare for district play

Mineola’s Lady Jackets fell behind early against the Lady Eagles volleyball squad Friday afternoon in Canton and were unable to close the gap, losing the first game 25-11. It seemed the speed and skill of the green Eagles’ attack would overwhelm the ladies in orange. more

Mineola opens with 31-14 loss to Wills Point

Yellowjacket fans need not be alarmed by the initial season loss against a talented 4A Wills Point Tiger team, 31-14, in the season opener last Friday. The game revealed plenty to be excited about for the 2019 edition of the Mineola Yellowjackets.
