Virginia Ann Hankins 1943-2020

Virginia Ann Hankins, 76, of Quitman, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 in Yantis. She was born on June 4, 1943 in Lubbock to the late Marshall W. Sinclair and Anne L. Sinclair. She was a retired executive secretary for Austin Commercial in Dallas and member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Hankins of Quitman; daughter, Christina Pierce of Jacksonville, Ark.; brothers, Rick Miranda and Mike L. Miranda of Vilonia. Ark.; sisters, Susan Clifford of Quitman and Sandy Linder and Janice Hudson of Vilonia, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 12-1 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home, 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 in Mineola. Service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Hendrix conducting. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Mineola.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
