• Mineola Primary School Roundup is going on through Friday from 1-7 p.m. today (Wednesday), 8-7 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Head Start applications are also being taken, call the school for an appointment.

• On Thursday Mineola High School is hosting a track meet at Meredith Memorial Stadium.

• Also, on Thursday the Friends of Mineola Memorial Library will meet at 1 p.m. with Tina Davis of Kindness Kottage to be the speaker.

• Friday brings the Special Olympics to the Quitman High School track and field due to being postponed by rain last month. The opening ceremony and parade of athletes begins at 9:30 a.m.

• Autumn Wind Assisted Living is hosting a blood drive Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• The Quitman Bulldog baseball team will be at Edgewood Friday night at 7 p.m. while the Lady Bulldog softball team will be at Alba-Golden the same night at 6 p.m.

• The Mineola Lady Jackets hosts Grand Saline at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The baseball team will play away in Alba-Golden with junior varsity starting at 5:30. On Saturday, the baseball game in Mineola against Rains has been rescheduled to 9 a.m. due to prom.

• Saturday brings the Friends of the Arboretum Plant sale at the garden in Quitman 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The public is invited.

• Family Discovery Day will be held Saturday at the Mt. Pleasant LDS Meetinghouse at 2810 Ferguson in Mt. Pleasant. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. and classes will be from 9 a.m. till noon. There will be a light lunch with question-and-answer time.

• Faith Building Ministries at 3950 FM 1647, Winnsboro, invites the public to Rev. Gregory and Marsha Duffey’s Pastor and Wife Appreciation Day Sunday beginning at 3 p.m. Lunch will be served immediately following the service.
