Alba-Golden boys continue to blow away the competition in track and field.

The Panthers won the area title handily last Thursday in Cooper, scoring 194 points, well ahead of second place with 92.

The girls also had a strong showing as the runner up team with 96 points. Clarksville won with 119.5.

Top four finishers in each event qualified for the regional track meet Friday and Saturday in Springtown. Top two finishers there earn an invitation to the state meet May 3 in Austin.

Nick Hallman won the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Also advancing in the 200 were Wyatt Sutton in second and Garrett Wright in fourth.

Payton Dickinson won the 400-meter dash.

Otis Lee took 4th in the 800-meter run.

Cameron Lennon won the 110-meter hurdles with Gabriel Pfingsten 4th. The pair were first and second in the 300-meter hurdles.

Alba Golden swept the three relays to advance all three teams.

The 4x100 included Kaden Massie, Gavin Parker, Wyatt Sutton and Payton Dickinson. Hallman, Parker, Dickinson and Sutton ran the 4x200. The 4x400 team included Parker, Pfingsten, Lennon and Wright.

Parker advanced in the long jump with a third-place finish.

Sutton was the winner in the triple jump.

Alba-Golden grabbed three of the four spots in the pole vault with Pfingsten first, Hallman third and Kaden Trimble fourth.

Layton Williams was runner-up in the shot put to advance.

On the girls’ side, Braelyn Massie took runner-up in the 400 meters.

Erin Langston placed third in the 100-meter hurdles and just missed advancing in the 300 hurdles with fifth place.

All three Alba-Golden relay teams advanced with a win in the 4x400 and seconds in the 4x100 and 4x200.

Olivia Morrison and Landrie Boyd were 1-2 in the pole vault to advance.

Alexis Wilmut advanced as the runner-up in the shot put.
