A&M Commerce honors Quitman teacher and her student teacher
Texas A&M-Commerce’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources held its annual honors banquet Tuesday, April 26.
Alumni Paulette Aguilar, who teaches at Quitman High School, and student Allison Boyd, who student teaches at QISD, received awards.
Aguilar, known as “Ms. Ag” to her students, received an award for “Outstanding Alumni Teacher.”
Boyd is working toward her teaching certification and has been working to fulfill her student teaching requirement at Quitman ISD, mentored by Aguilar.
Alumni Matt Byrd from Hawkins ISD also received an Outstanding Alumni Teacher Award. Byrd was Boyd’s high school agriculture teacher. All of the award winners were nominated by faculty members from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and voted on by faculty and staff.
