Area bands swarm to Mineola fest
High school marching bands from around East Texas converged on Meredith Memorial Stadium Monday for the 7th annual Mineola Marching Festival.
Local groups from Alba-Golden and Quitman competed as they prepared for UIL region marching in the coming week. Quitman advanced to the evening finals run, placing fifth.
Lindale took home the top award in the military-style competition, while North Lamar repeated as champions in the open category.
