Billy Wayne Wright

MINEOLA-A funeral service for Billy Wayne Wright, 64 of Mineola was held on September 15 at First Baptist Church.

Mr. Wright died September 9. He was born June 22, 1954 to the late Robert Wright, Jr. and Deloris Wright. He attended McFarland and later graduated from Mineola High School in 1972. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army.

He was a member of Sidney Temple Church of God in Christ, entered ministry at East Chapel CME Church, and pastored several churches, including Humble Baptist Church, Mineola.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wright, Jr., two brothers, Lincoln Wright and Edward Russell; a grandson and a granddaughter.

Survivors include his mother, Delois Wright; five daughters, LaShanda Wright, Anita Thornton, Winter Wright, Misti Blackwell and Lovely Wright; three sons, DeVante Wright, Joshua Wright and Caleb Wright; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora Palmer and JoKathryn McCarty; three brothers, Lawrence Wright, Anthony Wright and Virgil Wright, and extended family.
