Breakfast benefits local food pantry

Breakfast With a Heart will be hosted by First Christian Church, 209 N. Pacific in Mineola, Saturday, Aug. 5.

The all-you-can-eat breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, jams, jellies, coffee and juice) will be served from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

Proceeds support the Bread of Life Food Pantry, which distributes food on the first and third Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. at 1001 E. McDonald St..

Suggested donation is $10.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
