Bulldogs win pair of games in Bonham basketball tournament
The Quitman Bulldogs put up a pair of wins in five games at the Bonham basketball tournament over the weekend.
Quitman started the week with a 46-27 loss to Edgewood last Tuesday.
The Bulldogs opened the tournament with a 34-28 win over Village Tech behind 17 points from Carter Smith and nine from Payton Sapp.
The Bulldgos lost 41-16 to the host team and followed with a 49-36 loss to Quinlan Ford.
Quitman got back in the win column 38-35 over Rains with Smith scoring 14 and Bryson Hobbs nine.
The Bulldogs hung tough with Callisburg before falling 47-43. Smith put in 17 and Sapp 14.
Quitman has two road games before the holidays, Friday at Gilmer and Tuesday at Sabine, then enters the Leonard Tournament Dec. 28-30.
