Many businesses have adopted scaled back hours, with major retailers using the time to sanitize stores and restock bare shelves.
Some retailers have also shifted to delivery and online business models.
Banks have restricted access to their lobbies, with drive throughs remaining open.
Some electric utilities have suspended service shut offs temporarily.
