The reports cover all activities through Dec. 31, 2023 and were due on Jan. 16.

Candidates file campaign expense reports

The first round of campaign finance reports for the March party primaries has been filed.

The reports cover all activities through Dec. 31, 2023 and were due on Jan. 16.

For Prec. 1 county commissioner, incumbent Virgil Holland reported expenditures of $592.40 for signs from a personal loan of $1,000.

Challenger Justin Bowring reported receiving political contributions of $1,100 and expenses of $2,279 including t-shirts, cards, signs and t-posts.

Challenger Randy Dunn had not filed his report as of Jan. 29.

For Prec. 3 commissioner, incumbent Mike Simmons reported $300 in contributions and $1,818 in expenses including gasoline, signs and the $750 filing fee.

Republican challenger David Eishen did not file his report as of Jan. 29.

Madeline Gibson, a Democrat who will face the winner in the November general election, reported $2,325 in contributions and $316 in expenses including fees for electronic contributions, paper, post cards, printer ink, appetizers and postage.

In the race to fill the Prec. 2 constable seat, Bobby Tucker reported $700 expenses for signs and no contributions.

Josh Davis reported $2,545 in contributions and $2,877 in expenses, including event expense, printing, signs and poles, shirts, banner and the filing fee.

Stephen Nichols has not filed a report.

For Prec. 1 constable, LaDawn McGee reported $500 in contributions and $650 in expenses for printing, vehicle magnet signs and corrugated signs.

Robert Holland reported $6,155 in contributions and $5,381 in expenses including signs and photography.

Sheriff Kelly Cole who is unopposed reported his $750 filing fee.

The next report is due Feb. 5 for the period through Jan. 25.
