Caring & Sharing nets more than $7K from auction
Mineola’s Caring & Sharing program raised $7,200 through the KMOO Radio Auction conducted Nov. 3, according to Beverly Spike, chair of the Caring & Sharing board. The organization expects to collect another $200 once everyone picks up their certificates and pays for their items, she added.
The auction was a success and “everything ran very smoothly,” Spike noted.
Caring & Sharing was woven into the fabric of Mineola in 1983. It now helps close to 300 families. Caring & Sharing will be raffling off three $200 gift cards to Brookshire’s on Dec. 8. Raffle ticket sales will be sold through November and conclude on Dec. 8. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
Caring & Sharing has an on-going fundraiser through its Aluminum Can Drive. A receptacle for donations is located behind Brookshire’s.
