Carolyn (Kay) Lobdell, 1936-2021

Carolyn (Kay) Lobdell died peacefully on Feb. 8, 2021. She was born in Bowling Green, Ohio on Nov. 29, 1936 to the late Vern and Arlene Lobdell. Kay was a resident of Mineola and attended the First United Methodist Church of Mineola. She loved NASCAR, flea markets and spending time with friends.

Survivors include Keith (Mary Lou) Bowers, Dawn Mack, Kelly Richard; four grandchildren, Daniel Bowers, Jessica Richard, Christopher Bowers and Paige Richard; and her brothers Alfred (Patricia) Lobdell, Vern Lobdell Jr. and Edwin (Pamela) Lobdell.

A memorial service will be held on March 1, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 612 N. Newsome St. in Mineola. The ceremony may be viewed live on the First United Methodist Church of Mineola Facebook page.

Memorial contributions may be made in Kay’s honor to First United Methodist Church of Mineola Seniors JOY Group, 612 N. Newsom St., Mineola, Texas 75773.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
