Chase leads to arrest, man at-large
Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Hawkins Police Department and Wood County Precinct Two constable canine team worked into the night on Dec. 18 when a traffic stop on Hwy. 80 turned into a high speed chase and manhunt.
After reaching speeds up to 120 miles per hour, the vehicle wrecked on CR 3056, and the male driver and female passenger fled on foot.
Methamphetamine paraphernalia was found in the wrecked vehicle, along with the registered owner’s wallet.
Canine Juma and Constable Kelly Smith tracked from the wreck to a cabin where the female, Kimberly Skinner, was found and arrested for evading arrest or detention and possession of a controlled substance.
The identified male driver remained at large.
