Faith Baptist Church invites the Quitman community to attend the Faith Outside the Walls End of School Year Block Party on Friday, June 7, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the parking lot, 405 S. Hart. The celebration block party is free to attend.

“Our plans are to provide activities that the whole family will enjoy, and there is no cost to attend,” said Jarrod Yeager, associate pastor and youth minister and worship leader for Faith Baptist. “Quitman ISD has had a great school and Faith Baptist wants to celebrate with the students of a job well done by them in the classroom.”

Faith Baptist Sunday school classes will sponsor special activities that include a cake walk, bounce house, silent free auction and petting zoo. Free food and drinks along with popcorn, lemonade and cotton candy will be served as well. Door prizes will be awarded during the celebration.

Vehicles and personnel from the Quitman Police and Volunteer Fire Department, as well as an ambulance from UT-Health East Texas, will be at the block party for everyone to view. People will be able to ask questions to those who serve the community in times of emergency, said Faith Baptist Pastor Mike Midkiff.

The block party is also a kickoff event to promote Vacation Bible School June 10-14, from 6-8:30 p.m. nightly for children age 4 through completed fifth grade.
