Golden Special Kids Day Friday in Golden
The Golden Special Kids Farm and Ranch Day is Friday in Golden from 9a.m. until about 1:30 or 2 p.m. This is a free day for these children, no cost for them to come.
Around 240 special needs children from all over Wood, Hunt, Rains and Van Zandt Counties are expected to be in attendance.
The event coordinators invite many high school students from all the schools in the area so that each children will have a "buddy" for the day.
Lots of activities are planned with performances by the Back Porch Ministry Band from Houston who has been coming for 15 of the 16 years and donating their time. Shriner clowns have also been coming for years.
Some of the activities include a mechanical bull, horseback rides, wagon rides, hay rides, games, and more.
Several fire departments are expected to come and let the children see their trucks and help.
